Crazy days...

Today was one of 'those' days...

The filming for the lingere company went okay. I especially liked the part were my butt, hip, thigh and tummy fat were pointed out as being supremely minimized due to the 'control' briefs I was wearing... I hope no one recognises me...

In the afternoon I found out that the love of my life and I are no longer game on... I found out from a great friend in the States...

Tonight was graduation, I tripped on stage. Not really. But it would have been fitting. Actually, graduation was the best part of my day. I thought there wouldn't be any familiar people there but there were a few very quality people who I had not seen in a while and didn't know if I would see again. It was great. Plus, I never thought I would get excited about graduating but it was quite exciting and I am glad I went. Everything is so official now and I feel proud!

Congratulations to the university medal nominated person that was acknowledged at my cermony! I used to work with and be in class with this guy when he was still a girl. He was concerned about being a gay male in a female body and was looking forward to the day when he could rectify nature's painful mistake. He has now achieved this and throughout the process has managed to achieve a virtually impossible GPA of 7 (highest score possible at university, basically equivilent to perfect grades). Congratulations again and thank you for being such an inspiration!

Hey bonita!

I have the TV segment. I tried to rerecord over it but my mum won't let me because she says it will make her laugh hysterically when she is down...

Gah... Someone I hadn't seen since grade 10 high school recognised me... No one else has let me know, so far...

Life is fab!

Love life!

Hey K

It is Michael from Metropole Street. I thought I would try and find your webpage and see what you have been doing. I am in Prague at the moment staying in a hostel that is FULL of aussies. I mean it. The other day at breakfast, all of the about 20 ppl were aussies. I can not explain it.. But the main point for this comment is that I may be working in Holland during winter and this very well may fit in to your "November 14th I fly out of LAX into Amsterdam" plans. It would be great to catch up with you so I will keep a closer eye on your website.

Take care and safe travels!!!

Michael
P.s - feel free to send me an email at mpstarkey@hotmail.com!!

Hello,
this is Sarah - the random comment leaver from ages ago (I didn't mention my name the last time).
Congratulations on graduating by the way!!!
It seems like what I am about to say is not even related to any of your last entries, but I remembered that I posted a comment on your blog and wanted to see if it was noticed. (I managed to find the page where I posted it too...:)) I just wanted to say that there are a lot of other young people out there who get involved in charity and human rights campaigns - but it seems like there is a common perception that teenagers are senseless and do not care about anything. Recently a friend of mine did a presentation on human rights on a seminar and I went with her. There were a few muslim kids (I hope this is politically correct). Their presentation was mainly on the fact that they are treated really badly at times and it wasn't only about them - it was about other communities as well. I wanted to say that there were a few hundred kids on that seminar, that are trying to do something and they are kids which don't really seem scary and that it proves that we do care (we might do some stupid things at times, but that doesn't mean that we don't care about anyone else but us). Me and the other few people that actually want to study social science and/or human services are probably only a small part of the young people that want to do that (and now I sound a little obsessed with this topic - I do realise it!) I have thought of racism and other cultural stereotypes, but I have never thought of actually the way that people stereotype us. It's almost as bad as racism.
That (and the presentation from the muslim kids) made me think - are we as racist as we sometimes come across - I mean - shouldn't we be sticking to yet another stereotype - a good one this time - the friendly Aussie one - the one that should be accepting and open? Or is that a myth? Are we stereotyping too much (about everything and everyone - including people from other countries and people from different age groups)?
The other reason I am posting another comment is because I would like to ask if you know of any anti-racism forums or human rights ones, already estabilished because I can not find any on the net.I thought you might know of at least one. The reason is that I don't want to keep annoing you - I feel a little bad about that. And if you don't know any -thats alright - I will just try and make my own one.
Thank you!
(btw - It feels good to let it all out!!! Thanks for listening(reading) too!)

Hey Sarah!

Thanks for your comment again!

Why do you not leave your contact detail for me to call or email you with all sorts of useful information?!?

I would love to be able to point you in the right direction!!

You are absolutely right, there are TONNES of wonderful people (young and not-so-young) who are doing great things in our communities, locally and internationally.

There are also many more who want to do things but don't know where to start. The funny thing is, starting is not as hard as it seems.

I am just about to post a blog titled 'No Butt Prints, Please' which is article I had published recently in the Queensland University of Technology's student mag called CirQUTry. It might help a little but I can give you (or anyone else you might want to put me in contact with) specific information related to your specific interests and hopes if you email me at emailk@gmail.com.

Lastly, I also have an online based organisation called the Young Australian Women's Alliance that I started last year for people just like you who are after an opportunities and support network that endeavours to assist holistically successful individuals. Links are attached to my homepage, www.kristianaonline.com.

Hope this helps Sarah and thanks for coming back to My Online Diary.

kristiana
p.s. You are totally not harrassing me at all, keep it up, makes me feel good.
;)
