'What the' weather!

I was wondering if it was just down under that was experiencing unusual weather, but my sister txt me this morning to say that it is snowing in New Orleans. Apparently this doesn't happen, ever.

In Brisbane at the moment, well actually, for several weeks now, we have been having a cycle of about three days of rain and storms followed by about three or four days of hot, hot clear days. This doesn't usually happen. It is usually hot and humid. Period. Then about four times a year, with little warning we get a mamoth of a storm with flash flooding and wind and hail and it is spectacular. This seems to be happening lot lately.... The river has now turned from green to brown with all the mud and silt running down stream...

Wow, I just wrote a blog about the weather... Better put something redeeming in - a joke!
A guy joins a monastery and takes a vow of silence: he's allowed to say two words every seven years. After the first seven years, the elders bring him in and ask for his two words. "Cold floors" he says. They nod and send him away. Seven more years pass. They bring him back in and ask for his two words. He clears his throat and says, "Bad food". They nod and send him way again. Seven more years pass. They bring him back in for his two words. "I quit", he says. "That's not surpriseing", the elders say, "You've done nothing but complain since you've been here.

Probation Over.

Woohoo!

I made it through probabtion and my supervisor gave me no bad feedback in my review! I am officially, official now; entitled to all sorts of incredible benefits!

I think I am going to stay with this organisation for a long while. I work with good people, feel appreciated, have freedom and responsibility and really like the work. They also support me in my external projects and I finally can understand how people can spend so much of their life working but still achieve a work-life balance.

Now I just have to deal with the fact that I feel like I am approaching 'the end of youth'...
